AGWA Course 1: Dashboard Map

Learn to navigate the AGWA Dashboard Map — the central workspace for viewing watersheds, gauges, and precipitation data in one place.

What This Course Covers

This course covers the core features of the AGWA Dashboard Map across six lessons, a demonstration video, and a knowledge check. By the end, you will be able to navigate the map confidently, manage layers, and access detailed data from watershed models and gauges.

Course Lessons

1

Logging In and Opening AGWA

Access the AGWA application through Google Chrome, log in with your credentials, and open the Dashboard Map from the Apps Library.

2

Map Functionality

Pan and zoom the map, reset the view with Fit to Extent, switch between basemaps, and use the Summarize Data Time Span slider to control how return period data is displayed for gauges.

3

The Layer Picker

Show and hide map layers and layer groups, adjust opacity, zoom to a layer's extent, work with sub-layers such as QPE precipitation options, and add custom WMS or ArcGIS Map Server layers.

4

Viewing GSSHA Watershed Models

Locate a GSSHA watershed model polygon on the map, open its summary pop-up, and navigate to the full model details page.

5

Selecting and Exploring Stream Gauges

Select a stream gauge on the map, view and download historical stage and flow data, and explore the gauge's rating curve and flood frequency return period table.

6

Selecting and Exploring Weather Gauges

Select a weather gauge on the map, view temperature, rainfall, and rainfall rate data, toggle individual data series in the chart, and download gauge records.
